Licorice allsorts

That was my day yesterday - a mixed up multicoloured lolly kind of day.

In the morning I ran Sri Chinmoy 16km with Rob while my sister ran the 8km and my nephew ran the 2 mile. I'll post a few photos soon.

Highlights of my run:

  • Finishing the 8km with my sister before turning around and heading out for the second half of my run.

  • Running in the rain

  • Meeting a new friend - Cool Runner Ayla (Karen)

  • Seeing Slowmo again after more than a year we think - and getting a big warm hug.

  • Being able to run hard in the second half of the race and finishing with a negative split (1:03/1:00)

  • Hurting like mad over the last 3km and still running the final km faster than any of the others

  • Pancakes

  • Nephew Sam winning second in his age group

  • Sam not taking off his medal or race number for the rest of the day

  • Seeing Rob run - he's such a natural.

Then we went to Cell bikes where my sister's partner bought a road bike - I hear the word triathlon being tossed around. Then indoor rock climbing for the kids before a BBQ lunch for my Mum's birthday.

It was a busy day and I was stressed. I ended up with a headache but Mum saved me with panadol. I ate way too many lollies and birthday cake and drank too much red wine. I really don't do moderation very well.

Today my plan was to swap white tea for black tea but, after 2 cups of black tea, I decided I don't like it very much. I only have a tiny splash of milk in my tea and if that's the worst thing I do in a day then so be it. I'm sure cavemen would have loved a little bit of milk for their tea.
